Albums I've Been Enjoying

Been listening to a couple recent purchases a lot lately:

Air is a French band and "Talkie Walkie" came out in 2004, though I just purchased it a few months ago. Its a beautiful sound that is different from what I normally listen to. I must say I've been rewarded well the past few years by stretching my musical tastes to the likes of Air, LCD Soundsystem and Girl Talk.

"One Fast Move or I'm Gone" is the soundtrack to the movie about Jack Kerouac's time in Big Sur, CA writing his book "Big Sur". I'd heard about this soundtrack last year, but have been down on Farrar for the past decade or so. I was a huge Uncle Tupelo fan back in the early '90s and really loved his first Son Volt record "Trace", but felt he had stagnated as a songwriter (especially in comparison to former bandmate Jeff Tweedy of Wilco). And frankly he's not a whole lot different on this record, but the collaboration with Gibbard of Death Cab for Cutie works extremely well here.

So I watched the Kerouac bio film several weeks ago and really enjoyed it. The soundtrack was also phenomenal so I picked it up and have been listening to it ever since.
